Largo Winch #21
Philippe Francq's cover for this 2017 Dupuis album places Largo Winch front and center — composed and self-assured in a pale blue blazer — surrounded by a forest of towering abstract monoliths that dwarf him yet seem unable to shake his calm. The stark, near-monochromatic palette and the title L'Étoile du Matin ("The Morning Star") lend the whole image an air of quiet tension, suggesting a man navigating a world of imposing, faceless structures on his own terms. Writer Eric Giacometti and artist Philippe Francq together deliver what promises to be another sharp, atmospheric chapter in the long-running series.
