During World War II, German and Japanese scientists developed a fighting machine called "Red Sun". However, the submarine it was on is sent to the bottom of the ocean after being caught in the atomic blast on Hiroshima. Years later, a young diver finds the sub's wreckage and accidentally activates the suit. Meanwhile, Lancelot and Laureen go out on a date. Later still, The Shield loses control of his powers during a training workout. Nevertheless, he's called to duty when Red Sun attacks San Francisco
