Philippe Aymond's spy series Lady S. reaches its fifteenth chapter with this striking cover: a blonde woman in a white top and blue jeans sits on a bare floor, visibly out of place among a group of hijab-wearing women in a sparse, enclosed room — the tension of isolation practically radiates off the image. The Dutch title In de Muil van de Tijger ("In the Jaws of the Tiger") perfectly frames the sense of a dangerous, inescapable situation. This 2021 Dupuis release promises exactly the kind of high-stakes espionage atmosphere the series does so well.
