Lady Rawhide #5

Dynamite's 2014 run of Lady Rawhide reaches its fifth issue with a cover that makes a striking impression: the red-clad, whip-and-pistol-wielding heroine stands with her back to us, commanding the dusty main street of a frontier town while a battered, desperate-looking outlaw cowers at her feet. Joseph Linger's painted cover bathes the whole scene in a warm golden haze that feels both sun-scorched and a little ominous. It's a confident, pulpy Western image that captures the series' mix of action and attitude perfectly.
