Lady Luck #90

Lady Luck battles an espionage ring centered on a mata hari scheme involving a scientist named Pluvius and his research machine. After foiling an initial locust attack on a greenhouse, Lady Luck uncovers a plot involving criminals posing as chemists and a gambling debt owed by John Wiggen's widow, Mrs. Wiggen, which the conspirators exploit to gain her cooperation at a tea party. Lady Luck ultimately crashes the gathering and defeats the gang, culminating in a celebration where author Waverly Hinwig makes a guest appearance to promote his new book.
