Labo Reutwar #2
The second volume of Tony Émeriau and Mickaël Roux's gleefully absurdist French series sends the Reutwar lab crew — visible through the portholes of a small spherical submarine-like vessel — hurtling through what appears to be the interior of a massive, grumpy-faced creature made of layered reddish flesh, debris flying in every direction. The subtitle À l'intérieur du dedans ! ("Inside the inside!") perfectly captures the cheerful scientific recklessness that defines this series, and the cover's warm amber and deep crimson palette makes the whole chaotic scene feel oddly cozy. Published in 2021 by Monsieur Pop Corn, this is a delightfully weird comic for anyone who likes their laboratory humor served from somewhere deep within a giant organism.
