The second volume of Pascal Bertho and Korkydü's La voix — subtitled Haut et Fort — arrives with a cover that's at once playful and quietly striking: a diminutive figure in a light-blue patterned jumpsuit stands perched on an enormous outstretched hand, dwarfed by the colossal profile of a face looming in the foreground. Published by Vents d'Ouest in 2004, this French-language series clearly has a lot to say about scale, voice, and the relationship between those who speak and those who listen. A charming and thought-provoking entry in the series.
