La Porte de Brazenac #[nn]

From Dargaud's 2014 Franco-Belgian album, La Porte de Brazenac brings together writers Rodolphe and Leo with artist Patrick Pion for what promises to be an atmospheric mystery. The cover sets a striking tone: a lone rider in period costume astride a pale horse moves through a moonlit forest rendered almost entirely in cool, ghostly blues — an image that feels at once historical and deeply unsettling. Florence Spitéri's coloring bathes the whole scene in an eerie luminescence that makes this one of the more visually distinctive covers Dargaud released that year.
