Volume 6 of Sanami Suzuki's La Petite Fille aux Allumettes wraps its cover in the warm, vintage warmth of a matchbox label — complete with ornate borders, French slogans, and the bold "Safety Matches / Allumettes Soufrées" banner at the base. At center stage is a pale, red-eyed girl in gothic lace, accompanied by a small, shadowy skull-like figure, the whole composition radiating the series' distinctive blend of dark fairy-tale whimsy and meticulous design. Published in 2018 by Komikku Éditions, this sixth volume is a lovely addition to one of manga's more stylishly presented ongoing series.
