In a world shaken by mysterious attacks, the Justice League finds itself under siege by half-human, feral beasts. When Reena, a feline creature who once clashed with Firestorm, seeks refuge and protection from the League, her plea ignites a crisis that tests the team’s resolve—and forces them to confront the line between monster and ally.

In "La mort pour jeu," Reena recounts to the League how businessman Rex Rogan transformed into the monstrous Maximus Rex, wielding genetic technology from the enigmatic Dr. Lovecraft to forge a terrifying army of beasts. When Hawkman is wounded by one of the creatures, Hawkwoman and Wonder Woman are lured into a trap, leading to the capture of all three heroes by Maximus.

In "Contre l'ordre nouveau," the scattered members of the League rally to break through Maximus Rex’s brutal siege, fighting their way through a tide of beast-men to rescue their imprisoned allies and shatter the tyrant’s grip on the city.
