Casterman's 2018 spin-off volume brings Régis Hautière and Damien Cuvillier's wartime series to a striking new vantage point with "La Perspective Luigi." The cover, drawn and inked by Cuvillier, captures a desperate, heart-in-throat moment: a group of children — clutching suitcases, a toy, and each other — sprint headlong through cobblestone streets while a distant figure looms at the top of the alley behind them. This first half of a two-part story promises the same blend of youth and upheaval that defines La Guerre des Lulus, rendered with Cuvillier's characteristically warm, expressive linework.
