La Cité de l'Arche #3

Two figures cling to what appears to be a dark, cavernous void in Boiscommun's striking cover for this third volume of La Cité de l'Arche, subtitled Lumière morte / Lumière vive. The painterly artwork — all deep shadows and warm, earthy tones — gives the scene an urgent, almost desperate energy as the characters press forward through the darkness. Published by Glénat's Drugstore imprint in 2012, this album promises the kind of atmospheric, richly illustrated Franco-Belgian storytelling that makes the series so compelling.
