The fifth and final issue of Image's wildly inventive 2014 series wraps up with a cover that puts the horned, green-skinned Krampus front and center — chains broken at his feet, belt gleaming, and a crowd of holiday folklore figures swirling all around him in barely contained chaos. Towering over elves, masked revelers, and blue-skinned supernatural beings, with a massive looming face filling the crimson sky behind him, Krampus has never looked more ready for a confrontation. Dean Kotz's linework gives the whole scene a kinetic, storybook energy that captures just how gloriously strange this series has been.
