This is the first volume of the original Japanese release of Kochikame, the long-running comedy manga series by Osamu Akimoto. Set in the Katsushika ward of Tokyo, it follows the misadventures of lazy, scheming police officer Kankichi Ryotsu at the Kameari Park police box. This volume collects the earliest chapters from the series' debut in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1976, establishing the slapstick humor and cast that would define the series for decades.
