Thierry Robin launches his Delcourt series Koblenz with this 1999 first volume, subtitled "Le Désespoir d'une Ombre" — "The Despair of a Shadow." The cover, entirely Robin's own work, presents a striking pair of figures rendered in deep greens: a composed young woman in period dress standing above a hunched, grey-haired man, while a ghostly creature shimmers in the background amid heavy chains.
