Knockout #405

Knockout Comic #405 is an anthology featuring multiple stories. "Deadline Danny" follows a clumsy character who attempts to cure a tender lump on his head using various first-aid methods, resulting in comedic mishaps. A longer adventure story depicts Billy Bunter encountering book-bagging crooks in a library and pursuing them with the help of Quickley, leading to a chase involving a hamper and eventual police intervention. A historical adventure set in medieval England follows D'Artagnan and a Cardinal's spy as they pursue thieves who have stolen twelve diamonds meant for the Queen, culminating in a confrontation in London. A final story features Con Sexton Blake and his friends defending against a weapon called the Rolling Sphere, a massive spherical device deployed by enemies called Black Eagle, which the heroes ultimately destroy by shooting at its rotors.
