Kitaro #10

Volume 10 of Shigeru Mizuki's Kitaro le repoussant, published by Éditions Cornélius in 2011, finds the one-eyed yokai boy walking alone down a dark, overgrown path, arms crossed and expression guarded — a quietly eerie image that perfectly captures Kitaro's place between the human world and something far stranger. Dense, shadowy foliage closes in on either side of the trail, giving the cover an atmosphere of creeping unease despite its deceptively simple composition. A wonderful addition to this beloved French edition of Mizuki's supernatural classic.
