The eighth volume of Kinderen in het Verzet ("Children in the Resistance") brings another tense wartime chapter from writer Dugomier and artist Benoît Ers. The cover art by Ers draws you straight into a rocky hideout where an armed partisan levels a submachine gun at a wide-eyed boy with his hands raised, while other young figures crouch nervously behind him — a quietly gripping image that captures the razor-thin line between friend and foe in occupied territory.
