Killing Girl #1

Frank Espinosa's cover for this 2007 Image series opener sets the tone immediately: a fierce, dual-pistol-wielding woman in a black suit lunges through a blood-red urban backdrop, a downed figure sprawled at her feet. The bullet-hole-punctuated logo and bold crimson palette give the whole image a kinetic, noir-soaked energy that's hard to look away from. Glen Brunswick and Espinosa clearly have a sharp, stylish vision for this series, and issue #1 is a compelling place to start.
