Kid Eternity confronts the notorious criminal Gilly de Retz, whom he summons from history to serve as a cautionary example of crime's consequences. When the chief fires a detective for failing to catch the criminal "Slippery Elmer," Kid Eternity disguises himself as a hillbilly to infiltrate Elmer's hideout near Possum Peak. Kid Eternity summons the historical figure Simon Legree to help track down the kidnapper and save innocent lives, ultimately exposing the masked crime operation and clearing his reputation.
