Ann Nocenti and Sean Phillips bring their mature Vertigo sensibility to Kid Eternity #6 with a cover as disorienting as it is arresting — a young woman in sunglasses tumbles or dives headfirst, her white-clad figure set against a fractured mosaic of close-cropped human faces rendered in warm, halftone-dotted tones. The collage backdrop, all eyes and lips and skin, gives the image an unsettling media-saturated quality that feels perfectly in tune with a story titled "Eating Pop Porn." Sean Phillips's cover work here is confident and quietly hypnotic, a strong showcase for where DC's Vertigo imprint was pushing visual storytelling in October 1993.
