Kid Eternity #18

This November 1949 Quality Comics issue sets a wonderfully eerie mood, with two oversized theatrical masks — one sneering and cunning, the other wearing a sly grin — looming large against a vivid magenta background. In the lower right, Kid Eternity and his ghostly guardian Mr. Keeper study the floating faces with quiet intensity, hinting at a mystery of disguise and deception. Pete Riss's clean, confident linework gives the whole cover a theatrical tension that makes "The Man with Two Faces" a genuinely compelling read.
