Kid Eternity #15

This late-run issue of DC/Vertigo's Kid Eternity delivers a striking 1994 cover by Sean Phillips — a towering, rust-brown mechanical giant dominates the image, bristling with gears, exhaust pipes, and industrial hardware, while a slight pale figure in white seems almost swallowed by its massive frame. The contrast between fragile human form and looming machine gives the whole image an unsettling, surreal energy that fits right in with the series' mature-readers sensibility. With Ann Nocenti writing alongside Paul Peart and Sean Phillips, issue #15 — subtitled "The Dinosaur" — looks to be a compelling chapter in one of Vertigo's more offbeat corners of the early nineties.
