Kid Colt Outlaw #37
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis 1954 Atlas Western puts Kid Colt right in the thick of it — the cover shows the blond hero in his red shirt, gun drawn, fending off a close-quarters attack inside what appears to be a stagecoach or wagon, while a Native American warrior draws a bow at near point-blank range and more combatants grapple fiercely in the background. Sol Brodsky and Carl Burgos bring real urgency to the scene, with taut linework and a cramped, chaotic composition that sells the danger on every inch of the cover. If you're drawn to the "Blazing Adventures of the Wild West" that Atlas promised its readers monthly, this is a fine example of the era at its roughest and most exciting.
