“Tinhorn Sheriff!”

Marvel's long-running western series rides hard into 1976 with this installment promising "Riders of the Deadly Sage!" — and Gil Kane's cover delivers the urgency immediately, showing Kid Colt astride his black horse at full gallop, revolver blazing as arrows and gunfire erupt all around him in a storm of smoke and sparks. That small inset panel in the upper left corner reinforces the outlaw gunfighter's relentless momentum, with Kid Colt sprinting through more danger. Inside, writer Joe Gill and artist Jack Keller bring "Tinhorn Sheriff!" to life — proof that Marvel's western tradition still had plenty of gunpowder left in 1976.
