Kid Colt Outlaw #184

Marvel's long-running Western series puts Kid Colt in a tight spot on this 1974 cover, where the red-shirted outlaw faces down a rifle-wielding bounty hunter inside what looks like a saloon, surrounded by onlookers and a damning "WANTED" poster bearing his name. The cover — penciled by Jack Kirby and inked by Dick Ayers — crackles with tension as the bounty hunter's cold warning ("It's gonna be the last walk you ever take!") hangs in the air. It's a prime slice of Marvel's Western storytelling, with a chapter title promising plenty more trouble ahead for the Kid.
