Detective Kerry Drake investigates a sinister occult scheme involving Dr. Prey and his accomplice Mrs. Brudge, who are conducting séances and mystical rituals to manipulate a wealthy woman named Mme. Libretto into changing her insurance policy beneficiaries. When Drake discovers the plot and confronts the conspirators at Dr. Prey's remote cabin, a violent confrontation ensues involving a hermit character and a shootout, with Drake ultimately turning the criminals over to the police.
