Private detective Ken Shannon investigates a smuggling operation involving precious metals being transported from the Balkans. Stefan, a supposed vampire who had been running the smuggling racket with his partner Rosa, is killed when he accidentally shoots himself with bullets meant for Shannon. The story involves a bowling alley setting where Shannon and his partner Monk work to uncover the criminals' plans, ultimately leading to a confrontation at a hotel where Shannon must rescue his associate Dee Dee and thwart the remaining gang members.
