Spinning out of Kevin Smith's Green Hornet universe, this 2010 Dynamite series puts the spotlight firmly on Kato — and issue #3 delivers a cover that makes an immediate impression. A woman in a sleek black costume and masked cap is rendered in near-silhouette against a dark background, her profile sharp and composed as a throwing weapon glints in her raised hand — a painting of quiet menace with real style. With cover work by Joe Benitez and interior storytelling from writer Ande Parks and artist Diego Bernard, this series was giving the legendary sidekick a worthy solo stage.
