Katanga #2

The second chapter of Katanga arrives with a cover that sets an immediately tense, cinematic mood — a lone soldier in a red beret stands with his back to us, armed and silhouetted against a sky blazing with fire, while military vehicles and armed figures move through the chaos below. Subtitled "Diplomatie," this 2018 Dargaud Benelux release suggests that whatever negotiations are at play, they're happening against a backdrop of very real danger. Sylvain Vallée's artwork delivers a brooding, atmospheric composition that makes this Franco-Belgian series feel right at home alongside the best of European graphic storytelling.
