Karnak #5
The stained-glass window treatment on this cover — designed by David Aja — is quietly stunning: Karnak rendered as a saint-like figure in deep green and white, hands folded, haloed, staring outward with the serene severity that defines him. It's a striking visual argument for the character's philosophical weight, and a fitting image for a series titled "The Flaw in all Things." Warren Ellis, Roland Boschi, and Dan Brown bring the fifth chapter of that meditation to Marvel in 2016, and if the cover is any indication, the tone remains thoughtful and deliberately unhurried.
