This first volume of the Kane series collects the opening story arc of the gritty, black-and-white crime saga by writer/artist Paul Grist. Published by La Comédie Illustrée, it follows the tough, chain-smoking detective Kane as he navigates the seedy underbelly of a nameless city, dealing with corrupt cops, violent criminals, and his own troubled past. The collection brings together the early issues of the original comic, establishing the series' signature blend of hardboiled noir and experimental storytelling.
