The cover by Brent Anderson says it all — Ka-Zar, blonde and bare-chested with knife raised high, wrestles atop a massive, snapping crocodilian while a woman in leopard-skin attire scrambles beneath its jaws in desperate peril, surrounded by the lush prehistoric foliage of the Savage Land. A small inset in the corner even shows Ka-Zar alongside his sabretooth companion, a nice reminder of the wild world this series calls home. With Bruce Jones writing and Anderson handling both pencils and inks inside as well, Ka-Zar the Savage #4 is a 1981 Marvel adventure that earns every bit of its title.
