# Justice Traps the Guilty #47 (February 1953) An anthology of crime stories adapted from true police and FBI cases. "Payoff" tells of Carl Ames, who uses homicide to collect on an insurance policy but is ultimately caught and imprisoned. A second story depicts a criminal named Lenny who attempts an arson scheme with accomplices but is foiled when one of his gang members, identified as Stooge, turns against him and shoots him during a confrontation with fire inspectors and police. A third narrative follows a man named Monk who, after being bullied as a boy by a gang including Jack Arnold, seeks revenge years later; the plot unfolds with references to a shooting incident at Arnold's pool house that results in murder, leading to Monk's eventual apprehension and confession.
