The issue contains at least two crime stories adapted from True Police and FBI cases. In the first story, New York Police investigate a series of fires, discovering that a janitor stored newspapers in the building lobby and suspecting a pyromaniac is responsible; their investigation reveals Robert Jordan has a record of suspected arson arrests and discharges. The second story, "Master of Flim-Flam," follows an educated man named Windt E. Barnes who became a con artist and imposter, taking a letter to McGuff offering to solve mysteries in exchange for his release from a dungeon, only to be exposed when he attempts to use his son's name to forge orders.
