This anthology issue presents three true crime cases. "Murder Special Delivery" recounts the case of Docile Deborah Cowling, a woman deceived by a faithless admirer who became a murderer; police convicted her of murder using circumstantial evidence alone in one of the first such convictions on record. "True Famous Detective Cases" depicts an MK&T train robbery on August 23, 1923, near Osage Station, Oklahoma, where criminals attempted to steal the mail car and rob passengers. "A Fortune in Slugs!" tells the story of petty con man Augie Benson, who stole waste metal from a stamping plant and set in motion a scheme to bury New York's "Great White Way" under an avalanche of slugs.
