☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis collection brings together the six-issue 2023 miniseries that pits the modern Justice League against the futuristic Legion of Super-Heroes. Written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Scott Godlewski, the story follows a temporal crisis that forces the two iconic teams into conflict while uncovering a threat to the timeline itself. The volume includes all covers and variant cover galleries from the original series run.
In "The Return," the Justice League and the Legion of Super-Heroes reunite at the 21st Century Hall of Justice after being pulled from across time—some aged up, others de-aged. As tensions rise and Batman probes a possible link between the Great Darkness and Gold Lantern’s ring, he’s met with resistance from Legion leader Kala. With the mystery deepening, an unexpected connection surfaces: the Legion of Doom. Written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Scott Godlewski, with colors by Ryan Cody and letters by Dave Sharpe, this issue’s cover by Scott Godlewski captures the clash of eras and ideologies.
In "The Return," the Justice League’s joyous reunion with the newly resurrected Wonder Woman is shattered by the sudden arrival of O.M.A.C., a warrior from the future. As temporal disturbances ripple across the globe, the League divides to track the anomalies, only to face multiple echoes of Epoch, the Lord of Time, each one warning of a looming danger to the fabric of time itself.
In the far future, a battle against a cosmic beast leaves the Legion of Super-Heroes shaken—when a Great Darkness tremor strikes, one of Triplicate Girl’s three forms vanishes without a trace. Back in the present, the Justice League feels the same unsettling ripple, and from it emerges the missing fragment of Triplicate Girl. With the mystery deepening, Jon Kent journeys to the future to reunite the Legion with the present-day League and uncover the truth behind the tremor’s origin.
In "The Gold Lantern Saga: Part Two," Jo finds himself stranded in the 21st Century, the only one aware of a sudden resurgence of the Great Darkness. Meanwhile, the rest of the Legion and the Justice League are mysteriously pulled into the 31st Century—where they too confront the same ancient threat, now spreading across time.
In the 31st Century, the Justice League and the Legion of Super-Heroes unite against the encroaching Great Darkness, even as Jo, the Gold Lantern, battles the same force in the 21st Century. When Batman and Brainiac 5 uncover a link between the two threats, a sudden surge from the Great Darkness tears through time, scattering the heroes across different eras.
In "The Gold Lantern Saga: Part Four," Batman, Rose Forrest, and the remaining Legionnaires join forces with President Brande and the United Planets to confront the Great Darkness, racing against time to reunite their scattered allies and restore balance across the timeline.
In "The Gold Lantern Saga: Part Five," the Justice League and Legion of Super-Heroes reunite at the 21st Century Hall of Justice, their timelines scrambled and their ages altered—some older, some younger. Batman, wary of the Gold Lantern's ring, suspects a link to the Great Darkness, but his attempts to investigate are met with quiet resistance from Kala and her allies. As the teams race to uncover the truth, an unexpected thread pulls them toward a shocking alliance: the Legion of Doom.
In "The Gold Lantern Saga: Part Six," Vandal Savage wields the Great Darkness to erase the Age of Heroes, unraveling history so neither the Justice League nor the Legion of Super-Heroes ever rise. With time itself fractured, can the remaining heroes find one final way to restore what was lost before the past is gone for good?
