"Junie" depicts a girl renowned for her horseback riding skills at a ranch. Another story follows a young woman who uses a love potion book in an attempt to win over a boy, experiencing magical mishaps in the process. "Dexter" shows a clumsy boy who repeatedly embarrasses himself in front of a girl he's trying to impress, including an incident where he damages her property and demonstrates poor manners.
Junie and a friend land summer jobs at the Dilly Dude Ranch, only to find themselves caught in a rivalry with the scheming Drucilla, who's determined to monopolize the attention of a young man named Mike. As the two girls escalate their pranks and ploys to outmaneuver each other, their vacation turns into a hilarious contest of one-upmanship at the ranch.
When Junie's cousin Abigail arrives from out of town, Junie decides a makeover is just what her bookish relative needs to have fun at the local dance—but Abigail's transformation comes with a catch: without her glasses, she can barely see a thing. As the evening unfolds, Junie discovers that hiding who Abigail really is might not be the ticket to a good time after all.
When Junie and her friend Lollie spot the dreamy Mike Cunningham, they decide to whip up a love potion from an old spell book to get him to notice Junie—but their homemade concoction lands in the wrong hands with hilariously disastrous results. As Junie scrambles to undo the damage, she discovers an unexpected path to winning Mike's heart after all.
When Jill tells Dexter he needs to act like a gentleman, he throws himself into studying a how-to book by the famous etiquette expert Elmer E. Post—and by their dinner date that night, his transformation seems complete. But when Dexter spots Post himself at the restaurant, he discovers that his idol's idea of good manners is shockingly different from the book's lessons, leaving him to wonder who really knows best.
