This issue is an anthology featuring two stories: "Kaanga, Jungle Lord: Blood Bride of the Crocodile," in which Kaanga and his companion Simba navigate treacherous jungle floods and crocodile-infested waters to rescue a woman and reach safety on higher ground, with Simba's alertness proving crucial to their survival. The second story, "Cobra Death" by Major E. L. Dyer, follows Red Sager, a diamond fields trader, as he is bitten by a venomous black cobra while in the African bush and must be treated by a woman named Olga, who shoots the snake and tends to his wounds before he ultimately turns on her in a fit of rage and desperation.

When Kaänga answers the drums summoning him to the Lkuan village, he discovers that maidens have vanished—stolen, the villagers claim, by walking crocodiles. But Kaänga suspects darker magic is at work, especially when he learns that the curse came from Hagua, a banished practitioner of black magic who seeks vengeance for the tribe's harsh treatment of the widows. Racing against time with Ann and N'geeso, Kaänga must uncover Hagua's hidden temple and stop a ritual that threatens the very maidens he's sworn to protect.
