Jughead #301 finds everyone's favorite Riverdale freeloader raiding the refrigerator with cheerful shamelessness, proudly announcing that while high food prices may have prompted him to tell his family to "tighten its belt," he's solved that problem by wearing suspenders instead. Stan Goldberg's cover captures the gag perfectly — Jughead holds a sandwich aloft in triumph, his bright orange shirt and bold red suspenders on full display, while a bemused woman talks on the phone in the background and two friends look on from the foreground table piled with food.
