Judge Dredd #19

Part three of "The American Way of Death" pushes deeper into grim territory, and Shane Pierce's painted cover sets the tone perfectly — Dredd stands armored and resolute in what appears to be a morgue, rows of body bags lining the shelves behind him as swirling, ghostly energy fills the air. It's an unsettling, atmospheric image that makes Mega-City One's law enforcement feel genuinely haunted. With Duane Swierczynski writing and Nelson Dániel handling the full art duties inside, this 2014 IDW series continues to deliver Dredd with real edge.
