This July 1956 Atlas anthology delivers three tales of dread — "They Wait in the Shadows," "A World There Was…," and "The Girl Who Vanished!" — all promised under one vivid cover by Bill Everett. That cover earns its keep: a terrified man sprints across an alien, blue-lit landscape while a second figure scrambles nearby, both dwarfed by a ring of enormous, faceless shadow-beings looming against a blood-red sky. It's the kind of ten-cent package that made Journey into Unknown Worlds such a satisfying fixture of mid-1950s science-fiction horror.
