Journey into Mystery #9
In *Journey into Mystery #9* (1974), a lonely scientist’s desperate attempt to find companionship takes a chilling turn when he constructs a lifelike robot companion in a quiet small town—only to find himself the target of suspicion and fear. As whispers spread and the townspeople grow increasingly uneasy, the line between man and machine blurs, igniting a mob that won’t wait to judge. With art by Doug Wildey and a striking cover by Russ Heath, this eerie tale of isolation and misunderstanding unfolds with a quiet dread that lingers long after the final page.
