Jour J #32
This 2018 entry in Delcourt's alternate-history series Jour J poses a tantalizing "what if" straight from its tagline: June 1945, and a meeting between Robert Oppenheimer and Jack Kerouac brings atomic research to a halt. Denys's cover art captures the tension beautifully — a massive, wire-wrapped spherical device dominates a shadowy workshop in the foreground, while a pale convertible cruises through the sun-bleached New Mexico desert visible through the open doors behind it. Writers Fred Duval and Jean-Pierre Pécau continue their tradition of colliding real historical figures into unexpected moments, and this issue looks like one of their most evocative premises yet.
