Against a warm backdrop of Tibetan script and the grand architecture of what appears to be the Potala Palace, this Dutch-language edition of Jonathan finds two figures — a passenger and a uniformed rider — astride a motorcycle with sidecar, rendered in Cosey's distinctive, quietly atmospheric style. The twelfth volume in the series, Hij die de rivieren naar de zee leidt (1997), showcases Cosey's complete creative vision, with writing, art, and inking all his own. Published by Le Lombard, it's a fine entry point into one of Franco-Belgian comics' most contemplative adventure series.
