A dark rider on a rearing, wild-eyed horse bears down on a cornered lawman scrambling for his gun against a blood-red sky split by lightning — it's a cover by Rich Buckler and Frank Giacoia that crackles with genuine menace. Issue #14 from 1978 promises a confrontation with "The Sin Killer," a figure whose very title suggests something more ominous than your average frontier outlaw stalking the high country. With interior work from writer David Michelinie and artist Vicente Alcázar, this is DC's scarred bounty hunter at his gritty, atmospheric best.
