Farrell Kincaid och Vargklo deltog i rånet som kostade Cassie Wainwright livet. Cassie var Jonahs fästmö och hennes död fick hennes far, överste Marcus Wainwright att ta livet av sig. Jonah Hex har blivit vicesheriff under sin gamle vän sheriff Rehnquist, i staden Gravesboro. Kincaid och Vargklo dödar Rehnquist och tänker nu mörda Jonah.
