This French-language Delirium collection brings together the wartime aerial adventures of Johnny Red — subtitled Le Diable Rouge — by writer Tom Tully and artist Joe Colquhoun. The cover makes a bold graphic statement: a grim, goggled fighter pilot stares out from a vivid red medallion above a stark black-and-grey composition of warplanes locked in combat, radiating lines giving the whole design an almost propagandist energy. It's a handsome 2015 package that does full justice to one of British comics' most gripping WWII aviation strips.
