Jodocus de barbaar #4
The fourth album in Marq van Broekhoven's lighthearted barbarian series finds Jodocus tangled up with "De blinde ziener" — the blind seer — and the cover sets the tone beautifully: a ghostly, wide-eyed vision of Jodocus looms in soft blue over a rocky, sun-baked landscape, while a small green creature perches atop a weathered stone pillar, fishing rod in hand. Van Broekhoven's clean, expressive linework carries the same warmth and gentle humor that has defined the series, and the contrast between the ethereal apparition and that nonchalant little angler is quietly charming. A fine 2016 addition to this Dutch-language adventure comedy.
