"Congo King" depicts Jo-Jo battling against a treacherous jungle woman named Tanee who seeks to kill him; after Jo-Jo defeats her in combat and she falls into a bog, a Council judge remarks that such evil dwelling in the jungle is punished by its own means. "The Mocking Miser" tells of an old, wealthy man named Silas Johnson who hoards his riches and refuses to help others; his granddaughter Shiela grows angry at his greed and plans to journey to Africa to help natives gain his wealth, but Johnson's selfishness and refusal to share his fortune ultimately lead to his downfall, with the story warning that murderers and misers are saved from their own evil by the jungle itself.
